Loreto Sister, Louise O'Sullivan, is to direct the Mater Dei Chorale and Soloists accompanied by Aisling Drury Byrne and Darina Gibson in Remembering Zion, a moving concert of readings and music from the Holocaust.

Remembering Zion, a moving concert of readings and music from the concentration camps of the Nazi Regime from 1939-1945. It is a testimony to the resilience of the human spirit and will be especially moving for members of the Polish community and the Jewish community since much of the music which will be performed on this night was written by Polish and Jewish prisoners in the camps.

There will be extracts from Mendelssohn's oratorio, 'Elijah', and the Irish premiere of 'The Holocaust Cantata' by Donald McCullough.

The accompaniment provided only by cello and piano is intended to reflect the original performance of such music in the context of the camps.
