Verity, freedom, courage, justice and joy, all linked with integrity; these are the essential elements of the charism of Mary Ward founder of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Loreto Sisters) and the Congregation of Jesus.  Mary Ward was born in 1585.

Mary Ward knew what it was to travel far from home, to experience both rejection and welcome.  She also knew what it was to go to a deeper place, to search for the Glory of God, both in her head and in her heart.
