| 6th January |

Today January 6th is the Feast of the Epiphany. It commemorates the coming of the three wise men to see Jesus. In Ireland it was traditionally known as "Little Christmas" or "Nollaig na mBan" which translates as Women's Christmas. After all the work done by women over the Christmas Season this day was meant to be a day of rest and relaxation for women when the household work would be undertaken by the menfolk. It seems appropriate for a congregation of women to celebrate this Feast with enthusiasm! May the blessings of this day and of the entire Christmas Season remain with us and sustain us through the year ahead. |
