What is it?
The Loreto Centre in Crumlin (originally the Loreto Convent) was established in January 1998 to meet the needs of people in the local community, especially women, through the provision of opportunities for human growth and community development.

The Centre aims to help people realise their own self-worth and potential and to develop resources for more creative and effective living.

Our approach aims to be holistic, educational and empowering. We seek to provide a friendly, safe, supportive and challenging environment for all who come to the Centre.

Objectives:
To enable and empower women to develop their own resources for more creative and effective living within their own lives and their families and to participate in building a supportive personal/community network.

To respond to the needs of the local community by providing course opportunities for healing, growth and development of skills relevant to both personal and community needs.

Personal development group

To establish co-operative links with agencies and networks in both the statutory and voluntary sectors at local level.

The Programme includes Personal Development, Stress Management, Women's Health, Family Communications, Life Skills, Spirituality, UCD Outreach Programme in Women's Studies - as well as backup services such as counselling.

We work closely with local agencies both statutory and voluntary.

Sr Brede Quirke, IBVM, Project Co-ordinator, manages the day-to-day running of the Project, as well as the planning and advertising of these programmes and other activities.
